Kōloa Rum Company has been very fortunate to avoid damage from the recent flooding. However, many businesses and families in the community have been affected. In the true Spirit of Aloha, the Kōloa ohana has come together to support flood relief efforts.
“We are grateful to not have sustained any damage,” said Bob Gunter, president and CEO of Kōloa Rum Company. “Unfortunately, communities on the North and South shores were not so lucky.”
Kōloa Rum Company is matching all employee donations threefold. The Kōloa Rum Company Store in Kilohana also hosted “Rum for Relief” on April 21st and donated 100 percent of sales to Malama Kaua‘i. In addition to monetary donations, employees are collecting clothing, food and water donations for those in need.
“Our staff members and their families have been so generous, and I’m proud to work alongside each and everyone of them,” Gunter commented.
The Kōloa Rum Company is committed to supporting its ohana. The Kaua‘i community is strong and the Kōloa team will continue to do everything available for those affected moving forward.
